Hard to Say Goodbye

"I will never forget this time. This year has been the best one in my life! I don't want to believe that tomorrow it will be time for me to go back home. It's impossible! Now it seems to me that my home is here," - Katty wrote these words in her diary. 
She has already been studying French at a special college in Paris for over a year. It was her last day in France. The next day she had to fly to Germany, where her home was. Her family lived in Duisburg. Sure, she missed them, but she had found very good friends here, in Paris, and it was really hard to say goodbye to them. 
It was the last evening that they could spend together. So, they were going to organize a small party for the nearest friends. Katty's friends had prepared a very unusual surprise for her. 
Katty was ready to leave her flat and go to the cafe when she got a text message from her best friend Marie: "Darling, I'm afraid, I won't have time to come to the party tonight. I have to sit at home with my little brother and I also have too much homework to do. I am really sorry. I will miss you." Katty got very sad, but she hoped that other friends would come. 
However, in the cafe she met only 5 people. Katty was shocked, she had expected at least 10 people to come. Those friends who came gave her flowers, presents, they were trying to make her happy, but Katty's mood was already spoilt. The party wasn't very long as Katty wanted to come back home as soon as possible. That was definitely the worst day in her life!
Next morning she flew to Germany. During the flight Katty tried not to think about her friends. She hadn't seen her parents for ages, so she was really looking forward to meeting them. 
The flight was over. Katty passed through the customs, got her luggage and was looking for her mom and dad in the crowd. Suddenly she heard familiar voices and turned at them. At first she couldn't believe her eyes: All of her French friends who hadn't come to the party the day before were looking at her! Katty couldn't stop the tears of happiness. She saw Marie in the crowd and through herself into her arms. Katty hugged and kissed her dearest friends. They had flown to another country just because it was hard for them to say goodbye to Katty. It was a very unexpected surprise! 
In a few minutes Katty met her parents. Now her family and friends were beside her. She had never been so happy!
